Let’s face it: every night is ladies’ night for me. But for those of you who like to make a special thing out of it, here’s my suggested playlist!
- Santogold – “I’m a Lady” – the original is great, but try this version too
- M.I.A. – “M.I.A.”
- Mala RodrÃguez – “Por La Noche”
- Bahamadia – “Commonwealth”
- Girlyman – “Young James Dean”
- Indigo Girls – “Closer to Fine” – the only Indigo Girls song I like
- Lauryn Hill – “Everything Is Everything”
- Polyrhythm Addicts – “Big Phat Boom”
- Roxanne Shante & UTFO – “The Real Roxanne” – really, really old school
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs – “Mysteries”
- Nickel Creek – “Beauty and the Mess”

- The Be Good Tanyas – “Ootishenia”
- TLC – “Waterfalls”
- La Bruja – “Unstoppable”
- Jean Grae – “Not Like Me”
- Ivy Queen – “Yo Quiero Bailar”
What am I missing?

check out a lady by the name butterscotch. if you have heard of mike patton of faith no more, and his many other bands, mainly peeping tom, you may see her beatboxing with him. rahzel was in peeping tom as well, beatboxer from the roots.
